Wild Nature
Everybody loved you when you had that bad habit. The habit ruining your life. It’s a habit that makes you feel powerful, so why do you want to leave it all behind?
Swan’s making big changes in his life, quitting the deathsport of masked killers that made him rich, and trying to be anyone other than who he really is. And almost no one wants that to happen. Not his best friend and business partner, not his fanbase, and definitely not the sinister voice in the back of his mind.
The one person who wants to see him change is a woman who thinks Swan’s bad habit killed her brother. Together they’re confronting the dark, violent histories that brought them here.
Available direct from David Taylor.
I’ve been working with David since Wild Nature was just an outline! The work we did together to develop each character into their own, vibrant person was the basis for my Writing Better Characters workbook.
We looked at how to build dimension and pace control into the A-to-B journey Swan needed to get through, which thematic elements to really lean on and expand, and how to make sure, in this very aesthetically masculine story, that the women involved kept their narrative presence and power. I’m hugely proud of Wild Nature! Coming as a part of British comics’ murdersport and futuristic satire legacies, Wild Nature’s hardback volumes are worth anyone’s shelf space.
I also wrote press releases to support and advertise the Kickstarters.
Volume three is coming in 2023. Be ready!
