In the Citadel, the Order proclaimed majic wielders to be evil creatures intent on death and destruction. Terror gripped the land as neighbor turned against neighbor, family against family. Into the chaos a charismatic priest rose to prominence by promising to root out the majic users among the people, and to restore the kingdom to its ancient glory.
Aryne's journey will turn her world upside down, shaking her pillars of certainty to their very foundations. The more she learns about who she really is and how things really are, the more danger she will find herself in … but she will not journey alone. She will encounter others along a similar path of awakening and discovery, and together they will become the Remnant of a world long forgotten.

Remnant
Eric got in touch with me having finished his first and second issues [I have since consulted with Eric on a remastering of issue one’s script!], with the first in print and available online on Webtoon Canvas. He wanted to keep creating, but was unsure how to optimise his creativity. We discussed where he should put his focus.
With my input, Eric decided to reformat the pages he posted on Webtoon, to better fit the scrolling nature of the site. He also asked me for a dialogue consultation on issue two, and for some workshopping on his outlines and series plans for issues three and onwards. From there, we worked on the scope of the series, the character focus and how best to present it, and how best to structure each issue. Eric passed me script drafts for issues three, four and five, and I gave him a few rounds of notes for each. He draws his issues himself; I offer layout notes and workshopping on these when he asks for them. We talk a lot about how to balance dialogue and panel size and focus. I proof the coloured pages, and do a final check on dialogue before the scripts go to the letterer, Micah.
As we work together, Aryne’s story develops into something reminiscent of Robin Hobb’s Liveship writing. A very exciting collaboration! As a Top Cow reader circa 2002, Remnant appeals to me on several levels.
