Reanimator Incorporated
Based on H.P. Lovecraft’s ‘Herbert West - Reanimator’, Reanimator Incorporated is a complete reimagining of the original story.
Taking inspiration from Lovecraft’s original text, and from Gordon’s 80s movie adaptation, this graphic novel modernises West’s machinations, whilst weaving literary mythology into the tale. Think Reanimator meets From Beyond, with a splash of Dante’s Inferno, a dab of King’s Pet Sematary… And then some…

I came onto Reanimator Incorporated with Chapter Two, the editor for Chapter One having been unable to continue with the project. Andy and Lyndon had the shape of the rest of the project in mind, and layouts for the first part of Chapter Two already done. We did a few calls to get a sense of where they’re trying to go and how they want to get there. Then, I looked at and gave notes on the part of the script that went along with the already-laid out pages, and on those pages themselves. Having got a feel for each others’ working styles, we moved forward. I gave notes on a couple of drafts of Andy’s script, and then Lyndon drew coloured and lettered the issue. At this last point I came in again, and did a final round of visual notes on how the script was sitting with the art and how the lettering might be optimised for the reader. From there, Andy and Lyndon put the finishing touches on the work, and out it went!
