My Background
I’m lifelong comics reader, starting with Bunty as a child, reviving the interest with British graphic novels, international webcomics, American monthly comics and manga as a teenager. Having been involved with comics communities since y2k, I moved into criticism and commentary with adulthood—helping build, fill and run WWAC first as Features Editor and then as Editor in Chief. Leaving that website in 2021, I moved my criticism to Patreon, coming out of public retirement for occasional critical commissions.
Since 2017 I’ve been a freelance editor for independent comics. My first book was Hari Connor’s very successful Finding Home, the story of a slowly-building queer romance between two troubled wanderers.
I have been a producer of my own material as a regular lifetime practice, but regularly forget this and think I started yesterday.
I studied Animation and Illustration at Bolton University between 2006 and 2009. I attended SGGS for secondary education, and completed an Art Foundation year at Warwickshire College.
